VW R now with interactive website

With a very convincing presentation team:penta managed to secure Volkswagen R GmbH as a customer. The company was in need of a novel concept and realisation of a stand-alone online platform that would be complementing the parent company’s website presence.
After heavy brainstorming the creative team:penta came up with a website that is markedly different to that of the parent company, but is still easily identifiable as a child of VW. Its shapes, moods and colours make it immediately clear, visually and technically, that R models and the R-line equipment range are in the motorsport segment. The black, white and blue colour spectrum makes the web pages look dynamic and sporty – a perfect match for the vehicles advertised.
The icing on the cake is the 3D visualizer, which the creative agency developed for the site. It helps to give users a realistic and more emotional impression of their dream model as they are able to input their various choices in terms of colour, wheel rims and suchlike.
In contrast to the web pages of many other automobile manufacturers the website www.volkswagen-r.de is also easy to use on mobile devices without experiencing any limitations – and this includes the aforementioned visualizer. Instead of flash versions that are not suitable for these mobile devices, the IT specialists at team:penta have used HTML5 programming software. As a result all applications are usable on a mobile terminal without the need for added software and without the nuisance of long downloading times. In terms of functionality and user-friendliness this is a pioneering feat.
On top of all this team:penta developed matching teasers to present new models, for example the Golf R Cabriolet, which is trapped inside a giant block of ice that slowly melts during a countdown to gradually expose the car. This greatly enhanced the excitement factor for the launch of this new model.
With the web presence of Volkswagen R the team:penta marketing experts managed to create an attractive interactive product experience for potential customers.
More projects are already being planned for the future.
